Brujos Izalco - Halcones 103-83 Rather expected game when 8th ranked Halcones (4-10) were crushed on the road by fifth ranked Brujos Izalco (8-6) 103-83 on Friday. Brujos Izalco outrebounded Halcones 66-34 including a 45-23 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 34 assists comparing to just 17 passes made by Halcones' players. The best player for the winners was Vincentian center Akeme Smart (218-91, college: McCook CC) who had a double-double by scoring 29 points, 25 rebounds and 7 assists. American swingman JaCarre Crockett (190-96, college: Philander Smith) chipped in a double-double by scoring 24 points, 7 rebounds and 10 assists. Four Brujos Izalco players scored in double figures. American point guard Marcus Thomas (191-95, college: Rosemont) produced 27 points, 9 rebounds, 9 assists and 4 steals (on 10-of-10 shooting from the field) and the other American import forward Artis Cleveland (213-95, college: William Carey) added 12 points, 8 rebounds and 4 blocks respectively for the guests. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Halcones made 8 blocks.
